Reservations
A reservation can only be considered to be confirmed and guaranteed:-
If the hotel has received a valid credit card number with supporting information to process a deposit or to act as a guarantee for bookings made at short notice.
and
If time permits the hotel will normally send a written letter of confirmation along with a receipt for the deposit paid. Or, in the event of an e-mail booking, an e-mail from ourselves confirming your booking and receipt of deposit.
On the day of arrival it can not be guaranteed that rooms will be ready for occupation before 3.00pm. Guests arriving after 6.00pm should advise the hotel in advance, please. The hotel is normally locked around 10.30pm each evening and arrivals after 9.00pm can only be by prior arrangement.

Cancellation & Insurance
When a hotel reservation is made, both the guest and the hotel enter into a legally binding contract. The hotel offers accommodation on certain terms and the guest accepts the offer - a contract. In the event of a reservation being cancelled, for whatever reason, the hotel may claim a cancellation charge, which could be a substantial sum equal to the total reservation. The hotel, on being informed of the cancellation, will endeavour to re-let the accommodation. This may not be possible at the full period or contract price. Together with a administration fee of £15, this may modify any refund. We would therefore politely draw your attention to, and recommended, holiday cancellation insurance. Details of such and proposal forms are available here. Our recommended policy is endorsed and recommended by the Cumbria Tourist Board.
Payments of accounts
Payments upon departure, is accepted by personal cheque with supporting bankers card (card guarantee to cover full amount), cash, Mastercard, Visa, Maestro, Solo, Visa Electron.
No service charge is included. Gratuities are entirely at our guests discretion and will be greatly appreciated by the staff who operate a shared ´tronc´.
The management reserves the right to alter published tariffs without notice.
Pets
We are able to accommodate a limited number of dogs in some apartments but not in the public rooms of the hotel.
Owners will be responsible for their dogs food & bedding. Details on request.
Valuables
Please see ´Hotel Proprietors Act´ at reception. Valuables should be deposited for safekeeping.
