Mill Beck Restaurant

Would you like to eat in the hotel restaurant? Enjoy your dining experience in the comfortable Mill Beck Restaurant. Start your evening with a local gin and tonic in the Lounge, followed by a traditional home-cooked meal from Head Chef Del`s kitchen. Our kitchen team is more than happy to cater to your special requirements (please let us know in advance).

Bookings are essential for the Restaurant, and currently the Restaurant is open to residents only . Dogs are not permitted in the restaurant (with the exception of guide/assistance dogs).

The Bridge Inn

Full of character, the Bridge Inn boasts views looking towards Red Pike, High Stile and High Crag. With Red Pike to the east and Mellbreak to the west, our public bar is situated in one of the most picturesque valleys in the United Kingdom and epitomises true Lakeland hospitality- welcoming hungry and thirsty patrons. The Bridge Inn offers a selection of traditional English bar meals, including local Cumbrian dishes and many other pub favourites. Our daily specials board is also available, together with a variety of vegetarian options, children’s and dessert menu. We pride ourselves on the quality our food, with a high emphasis on the use of local Cumbrian ingredients, even from Buttermere itself.

Walkers Bar

Our dog-friendly bar Walkers Bar serves a varied selection of Local ales and lagers. Although our bar does cater to many walkers, the name “Walkers Bar” is in fact a reference to the Reverend Robert Walker who obtained a beer licence under his brother’s name around 1734 and founded the Bridge Inn – which dispensed hospitality and local Cumbrian ale to all and sundry. We like to keep the tradition going, and to this day we still have local Cumbrian cask beers available.

Lounge Bar Area

Adjacent to our Walkers Bar is our brand new for 2021 Lounge Bar, which provides the same food and drink as the Walkers Bar – with the added advantage of overlooking the Beer Garden in a cosy, friendly environment.

Both Bars serve food (please check for opening times) and with an extensive international wine menu, over 20 malt whiskies, a large selection of gins and spirits (including options from the Lakes Distillery – located 20 minutes from our door) and our offerings of Cumbrian ales and lagers – we are sure we will find the right ‘tipple’ for you.

GOOD TO KNOW

Packed lunches are available (please order them the night before) and will be ready at 10am the following day.

We cater for special dietary requirements such as gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan and any allergens. Please advise of any dietary requirement upon ordering

Unfortunately, we are unable to take reservations in the bar.

Our Sunday Lunch is highly recommended – but be quick as we may run out!

We welcome dogs with well-behaved owners.
